Currently I am
employed as Manager of the Chemistry Section at the US Postal Inspection Service
National Forensic Laboratory located in Dulles, Virginia.
Our chemistry section is staffed with six (6) highly qualified and
experienced Forensic Chemists and equipped with the latest instrumental
technology.
For the past 32
years I have worked in the field of Forensic Science and have extensive
experience in bomb scene investigation, the examination and reconstruction of
improvised explosive devices and the analysis and identification of controlled
substances. Prior to my employment
with the Postal Inspection Service, I worked with the Water Resources Division
of the U.S. Geological Survey in the area of hydrologic research.
I have a Bachelor
of Science degree in Chemistry from the American University in Washington, D.C.
and have completed advanced chemistry and technical courses offered at a number
of schools including George Washington University, Virginia Polytechnic
Institute and Arizona State University. During my career as a Forensic Chemist, I have testified as an
expert witness in more than 200 criminal trials held in Federal, State and Local
court jurisdictions across the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
I have repeatedly served as an instructor to law enforcement personnel,
presented technical papers to professional organizations and spoken at civic
associations regarding forensic science.
