FORENSIC SCIENTIST �
CHEMIST
The Fort Worth Police Department, Forensic Division is
seeking applicants for Forensic Scientist � Chemist to work in the drug analysis
section of the Crime Laboratory. Full salary range is $43,056- $68,890. The
Crime Laboratory has been inspected and ASCLD/LAB accredited. The Department is
currently assessing the need for a new facility that will deliver expanded
forensic services to the City of Fort Worth.
The selected individual will perform laboratory analysis on
physical evidence, provide scientific consultation, interpret test results and
form conclusions, write scientific reports and provide expert witness testimony
in court. We require the equivalent of a Bachelor�s Degree with major coursework
in Forensic Science, Analytical Chemistry, Biology or a related field plus one
year practical experience working in a Forensic Laboratory. Preference will be
given to candidates who have:
Completed a documented training program as a forensic
drug analyst |

Possess extensive experience with GC-MS, FT-IR and in
analyzing illegal substances and blood alcohol levels |

Have qualified as an expert witness in court and have
experience preparing reports for law enforcement agencies |
|
Possess good oral and written communication skills for
lay, legal and technical audiences |
|
Familiarity with ASCLD/LAB requirements and good
knowledge of Quality Assurance/Control principles and procedures |
