DRUG CHEMIST – COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS
The Cook County (Illinois) Sheriff’s Police Crime Laboratory is seeking
applicants to fill one full-time Drug Chemist position. The Cook County
Sheriff’s Police provides law enforcement services to a population of more than
six million residents. Qualifications for the position include a minimum
of a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in criminalistics or an
appropriate science such as chemistry, biology, or biochemistry from a
recognized college or university, and work experience of at least five years as
a drug chemist. Responsibilities will include performing routine
laboratory tests including qualitative and quantitative analyses of narcotics,
drugs, and other restricted dangerous substances; instrument maintenance;
writing reports; and testifying in court. Position will work closely both
with criminalists in the laboratory and with law enforcement personnel.
Salary:$42,000/annual.
