Duties: The Forensic Sciences Command is seeking a qualified
candidate to fill a Public Service Administrator Position as a Forensic Biology
/
position and not subject to union contract.
The successful candidate will be expected to: 1) implement a training
program for Forensic Biology and
established outlined Illinois State Police training program; 2) supervise newly
hired individuals and train them in the areas of Forensic Biology and
periodic and annual performance reviews of subordinates; 4) ensures both quantity and quality of work
product of newly hired scientists meets the guidelines of the Illinois State
Police, Forensic Sciences Command; 5) ensure all individuals under direct
supervision adhere to ASCLD/
assist in the development and validation of new
procedures; and 7) write equipment
specifications for the Forensic Biology section as needed.
Requirements: The position requires: 1) a bachelor’s
degree, preferably supplemented by a Master’s degree with emphasis on course
work in one of the biological, natural, physical or forensic science related
disciplines; 2) successful completion of a minimum of 12 semester hours in the
subject areas of biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology; 3) a minimum of
five years experience in forensic

electrophoresis, statistics and population genetics as it applies to forensic

and quality control procedures; 6) court
qualified as a
knowledge of the CODIS database.
