CRIME LABORATORY ADMINISTRATOR – STATE
OF IOWA
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is
seeking applicants for the Crime Laboratory Administrator to oversee the only
full-service crime laboratory in the state.
The ASCLD accredited Crime Laboratory currently has twelve functional
areas; latent prints, documents, photography, forensic data recovery, drugs,
toxicology, DNA, trace evidence, firearms/tool marks, alcohol, arson and the
evidence room. Qualifications
include graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s
degree in chemistry, physics, biology, toxicology, or forensic science, and
seven years of professional experience in a criminalistics or forensic science
laboratory of which one year included supervision of other laboratory personnel.
Applicants must be able to pass a thorough background investigation
conducted by the Division of Criminal Investigation.
Responsibilities include direct supervision of four criminalist
supervisors who supervise a total of 50 personnel, provide policy guidance in
regards to Crime Laboratory matters to the Director of the DCI, and to manage
the budget of the Crime Laboratory. Salary:
$63,336 – $78,790/annual. For
