Wanted:  Awards Nominees

The Awards Committee is seeking nominations for two awards to be given at the 2008 SAFS Meeting in Shreveport.  These awards are:

SAFS Outstanding Contribution to Forensic Science

The winner of this award will have a long-standing history of contribution to the profession of forensic science.  The contribution could be research, method development, significant case work, lab administration, SAFS Leadership, or a combination of these attributes.  The nominee need not be a “geezer” to qualify.

SAFS Young Scientist Contribution to Forensic Science

The winner of this award will be a practicing scientist with less than five years of active case work in the discipline nominated that has made a significant contribution to the profession of forensic science.  The contribution could be research, method development, significant case work, or a combination of these attributes.

Please take the time to explore the contributions of your peers or employees and find that person truly worthy of nomination.  Reward their hard work and contribution by taking the time to write an email nominating that person.  The email should include specific details about the contribution of the individual, and why they should receive the acknowledgement over other worthy nominees.

Email the nomination to the Awards Committee Chairperson, Robert Ollis at:

Robert.j.ollis@us.army.mil

The nomination will be forwarded to all Awards Committee members for consideration.
